My New Artwork

So, my living room walls are painfully bare. I have been thinking for a while that I need something on at least one of them. Well, it being Summerfest in Logan this weekend, and knowing that there would be artwork a plenty at Summerfest, I ventured forth with a budget and size in mind. I walked around and looked at many of the fares offered and none of them spoke to me. Then, on the way out, I passed Al Rounds' booth and stepped in. I fell in love with two different pieces- this one:

and this one:

Each of these paintings appeal to a different side of me. The cottage ("English Afternoon") makes me want to go visit there this instant and curl up with a good book or three and a mug of tea and a blanket and just read and wander and visit quaint villages. The gas station painting (titled "Old Friends") makes me think of a really simple way of life and time gone by (it actually reminds me of the movie Cars).

I stood in the booth and debated for probably 20 minutes. I talked to the people manning the booth- they were all great- and got the stories behind the paintings.

I went with English Afternoon, but loved Old Friends so much that I will probably end up buying it in the not too distant future.

I am beyond excited for my artwork!
