Ireland, I Am Coming Home

I have decided that I am going to Ireland! If I am a good girl, I will be able to go next summer.

Here's my dilemma with the idea- do I go on a guided tour or do I want to go at it alone. The advantage of a tour is that then I will get to see a lot of the classic stuff and would be with people that know what they're doing. The only thing is, I don't know if I want to see Ireland from mostly inside of a bus and don't know if I want to be with a ton of other people, most of whom would likely be old. I would rather be able to go and do at my leisure and see things that are out of the way and just stroll along the cliffs.

So, that's my grand adventure idea for 2008.

The reason I want to go is this- I have this huge dream of going and staying in a rock-walled cottage out in the countryside where the road isn't paved and they have a crackling fire every night and an old man walks his sheep down the road every morning while I eat my sausage, bacon, eggs & white pudding (it's something that is a bunch of weird ingredients shaped into a sausage like form). Oh, and then I want to meet a local hard working guy named Seamus or Colin or something like that and we will have a wonderful few days together and it will be one of those great romances that my kids won't find out about until I am old and they find my journal in an old hope chest.
