My Blog Title

Okay, so I have had several people ask me where I get my blog name from. Well, let me tell you.....

A long time ago, well maybe not so long ago, but about 11 years ago, I had a roommate named Tenille Schow. She was larger than life- an amazingly positive happy person who lit up every room that she walked into. She had big hair, bright lipstick and a beautiful soprano voice. Tenille was also very silly- she made up ridiculous nicknames for everyone. She named our friend's family after different types of gasoline (Regular, Diesel, Super, etc.)- you know, things like that. Anyways, for those of us not so blessed with that kind of nicknames, she would just take the first letter of our first name and add "ongsty" to the end. We had a roommate named Jamie- her nickname was Jongsty.

Anyways, natch, my nickname was Songsty. I tried introducing it to my family, and to a certain extent, it worked for a while- I use it sometimes with my sisters. But, far and away, my nickname of Songsty has stuck. I have some neices and nephews who can't find Aunt Shari in a family picture and will give a quizzical look when you ask about Aunt Shari, but they all can find Songsty.

So, that is where my nickname/blog title comes from.
