When my mom's sister Barbara died a few years ago, most of her stuff went into storage. A few months ago, my mom and dad paid to get the stuff out of storage and divvied some of the stuff up among us. I got some dishes, a mixer and an old pink stuffed rocking chair. I have decided that the chair desperately needs reupholstered, only trouble is, I have no idea how to do it. So, that is my next great adventure- figuring out how to reupholster a chair! It looks nothing like this one in the picture except for the color. If anyone knows how to do this and has some good tips, they would be appreciated.
On an unrelated note, I read something really funny today. I was looking something up on IMDB and read the following quote by a director "Always be your real self; unless you suck." I don't know why it struck me as so funny, but it did.
On another unrelated note, I taught Relief Society yesterday. We focused on the part of the lesson that related to the resurrection. When I first stood up, I said to the sisters in my ward that I hoped they had a lot to say because we were covering a very small part of the lesson, and they did. I love that so many people in my ward are willing to share their experiences and insights. It makes it so much easier to teach when you don't have to talk the entire time. Lots of tears were shed, many of them by me, and it was good.
On a third unrelated note, the boy who came in to see me at work will not be a significant part of, well, anything. He came into see me again on Tuesday, but I was gone. I called him the next day and left a message just to say hi, and then thought it would be a nice gesture to invite him for dinner on Sunday. Saturday at 11:30, he didn't have any plans other than hanging around the house, but 11 hours later, he left me a message cancelling dinner and letting me know he has been dating someone for a while and thinks he should invest his time there, but thanks for the dinner invitation, it was nice. Still haven't decided whether to be a little sad or a little ticked off- I'm leaning towards ticked off. I'm really okay with it though.

Don't waste your time being sad or ticked off--it's totally his loss. Just chalk it up to another failed blind date. It was a good experience though, right? Someone else will come along.
Okay seriously, what blind date hasn't eventually turned out bad? Okay, I had one that I dated for a while, but 99.9% of the time they don't work out. Totally his loss.
As per decorating: Adding a few pillows is a spendid idea. I'd also look at some artwork.... It needn't be expensive; you can spend $20 at the craft store to get some random print. And a pretty bouquet of flowers is great for adding a splash of color.
I'd be ticked off.
Oh, and I put some decorating tips on the family website. Have fun!
